Answers Before You Book

Use these FAQs to check pricing basics, access rules, cancellation requirements, storage restrictions and facility differences before enquiring.

Price

Are there discounts for long-term storage rentals?

Long-term pricing and any current offers can vary by location, unit size and availability. Please contact our team for the latest options.

Is a deposit required?

Yes. We require one month’s rental as a deposit.

How much are the storage units?

Prices vary by location, unit size and current availability. Tell us where you are based and what you need to store, and we can help match you to the closest suitable facility and unit size.

Transport

Is transport included in the cost?

No. Transport is not included in the storage rental cost.

Unit Specifications

What are the height restrictions?
  • Pinetown: most units are around 2.1m high, with some units around 2.4m high.
  • Westmead: max height is around 2m.
  • New Germany: max height is around 2m.
  • Umhlanga: max height restriction at the entrance is around 2m.
  • Cornubia: max height is around 2m.
  • Ballito: max height is around 2.5m.
  • Durban North: max height is around 2m.
Height and access can vary by unit and facility, so confirm your requirements with the team before booking.
Do you have climate-controlled units?

No. We do not offer climate-controlled storage units.

Do you have shelved units?

No. Our units do not come with built-in shelving.

Can I install my own shelves?

Only free-standing shelves are allowed. Please do not drill into the walls.

Are locks and keys provided?

No. Locks and keys are not provided as part of the rental, but we do sell locks.

What kind of storage units do you offer?

Unit types vary by facility. Pinetown and Ballito offer drive-up garage-style units. New Germany has indoor units over three floors. Westmead, Durban North, Cornubia and Umhlanga have slightly different unit setups, including indoor, double-stacked or underground parking-area storage depending on the branch.

Always confirm the access type and loading setup for your preferred location before booking.
Are units flood-proof?

No storage facility can offer absolute guarantees against every possible weather event. However, our facilities are built and managed with practical protection and security measures in place.

What are the sizes of the available storage units?
  • Pinetown: 3m² to 56m², with selected electricity-enabled units and mini offices.
  • New Germany: 5m² to 56m², with selected electricity-enabled units and mini offices from 12m² to 24m².
  • Westmead: 3m² to 18m².
  • Durban North: 3m² to 15m².
  • Umhlanga: 3m² and 15m² units.
  • Cornubia: 3m² to 15m² units, with parking bays subject to availability.
  • Ballito: 3m² to 90m².
All units are subject to availability and rented on a first-come, first-served basis.
How many different unit sizes do you have across locations?

Across our branches, unit sizes range from compact 3m² units to larger 90m² spaces. The exact sizes available depend on the location and current availability.

How We Work

How does cancellation work?

One calendar month’s notice is required to cancel your storage rental with us.

Can I book a visit before signing a lease agreement?

Yes. You are welcome to arrange a viewing at any of our storage locations before signing. Contact us to book a suitable time.

What documentation do you require?

You need to complete our lease agreement. Our team will confirm any supporting information required during the rental process.

Do you require debit orders to be set up?

Yes. Our facilities work off debit order. Debit orders are handled by our staff and can be cancelled by email when your rental is ending, subject to the required notice period.

What payment methods do you accept?

Debit order is required for ongoing rentals. Please speak to our office for any account-specific payment queries.

What happens if I miss a payment?

Access to your storage unit may be denied until your account is brought up to date.

Is there a minimum rental period?

Our minimum rental period is one month. After that, you can continue month-to-month for as long as you need.

What is your storage rental process?
  1. Use our storage calculator to estimate your space.
  2. Tell us about any special storage requirements.
  3. Send us your details, preferred location and what you need to store.
  4. We send you a quote and help confirm the right unit size.
  5. If you are happy to proceed, we provide the lease agreement.
  6. Once everything is confirmed, you can move into your unit.

Office Rentals

Is sub-letting allowed?

No. Sub-letting is not allowed.

Can I book an office viewing?

Yes. You are welcome to view our Pinetown and New Germany offices. Get in touch with us to arrange a viewing.

Access

Can storers access their units on public holidays?

Access depends on the facility’s normal operating hours. Contact the office to confirm public holiday access for your specific branch.

What is the largest vehicle that can enter a storage facility?

An 8-tonne truck can enter selected facilities, but access depends on the location and loading area. Confirm with the team before arranging delivery.

What are your weekend operating hours?

Each facility is different. Pinetown and Ballito offer 24/7 access. New Germany is open 7 days a week from 6am to 6pm. Other locations have weekday and selected Saturday access. Contact the office for branch-specific hours.

Special Requirements

Can I store guns, ammunition or weapons?

No. Guns, ammunition and weapons may not be stored.

Can I store fireworks?

No. Fireworks may not be stored.

Can I store chemicals?

Flammable items, propane, aerosol cans and highly reactive chemicals may not be stored in our units.

Services & Offerings

Do you offer rental parking space for trucks?

No. We do not offer rental parking space for trucks.

Do you have forklifts and pallets available?

No. Forklifts and pallets are not available for use.

Do you sell boxes?

No. We do not currently sell boxes.

Our Facilities

How big are your facilities?

Each facility is different and has its own layout, unit range and access setup. Our facilities range from smaller compact sites to larger storage branches with a wider mix of unit sizes.

Is there night lighting at your locations?

Yes. Our facilities have lighting in place, although the setup may differ by location.

What security measures do you have in place?

Security features vary by location and may include alarms, armed response, CCTV, monitored security and access control. Please ask our office for the specific security measures at your preferred facility.

What can fit into a 3m² storage unit?

A 3m² unit is suitable for smaller storage needs such as boxes, a single bed, a TV, a small desk or a few compact household items.

What can fit into a 12m² storage unit?

A 12m² unit can typically fit the contents of a small one-bedroom home, depending on how the items are packed and stacked.

What can fit into a 21m² storage unit?

A 21m² unit can fit larger household contents, bulky furniture or business stock, depending on item size and packing method.
