A: We offer 1 month free when paying for 11 months upfront. The 12^th month is free.

Q: Is a deposit required?

A: Yes, we require 1 month's rental as a deposit.

Q: How much are the units?

A: We have multiple self-storage locations in and around Durban, KZN, with many different unit sizes. Each location and size are unique. It is best if you tell us where you are located (so we can find your closest facility) and list the items you want to store (so we can advise on the correct unit size – see also our unit size calculator).

Q: Is transport included in the cost?

A: Only those who store with us for more than 90 days and who live within a 40km radius of our site can receive the benefit of free transport. It is not included in the cost.

Q: Is there free transport to move my belongings out of the unit?

A: No. However, we do have verified and trusted transporters who we can recommend.

Q: What are the height restrictions?

• Pinetown: Max height is 2.1m
• Westmead: Max height is 2m
• New Germany: Max height is 2m
• Umhlanga: Max height is 2m
• Cornubia: Max height is 2m
• Ballito: Max height is 2.5m
• Durban North: Max height is 2m

Q: Do you have climate-controlled units?

A: No.

Q: Do you have shelved units?

A: No.

Q: Can you install your own shelves?

A: Only free-standing shelves. We do not want anything drilled into the walls.

Q: Are locks and keys provided?

A: Yes, we do sell locks.

Q: What kind of storage units do you offer?

A: We have garage storage units available at most of our facilities. Westmead and Umhlanga have slightly different units.

Q: Are units flood-proof?

A: Although life offers no guarantees, we did happily go through the Durban floods with no issues.

Q: What are the sizes of the available storage units?

A: Sizes vary according to location. Pinetown sizes range from 3m x 4m to 3m x 7m, New Germany sizes are 1.5m x 2m to 6m x 7m, Westmead unit sizes are all 2.5m x 1.2m, Umhlanga units are all sized at 2.5m x 6m, Ballito sizes range from 2.5m x 1.2m to 7.5m x 12m, Durban North sizes range from 2.5m x 1.2m to 2.5m x 6m, Cornubia sizes range from 2.5m x 1.2m to 2.5m x 6m.

A: You only need to complete our lease agreement.

Q: Do you require debit orders to be set up?

A: Yes, all our facilities work off debit order. However, our debit orders are handled by our staff and are as easy to cancel as 1 email.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

A: Debit order only.

Q: What happens if I miss a payment?

A: Access to your storage unit will be denied until your account is up to date.

Q: Is there a minimum rental period?

A: Our minimum rental period is 1 month. You can then continue with us as long as you need, month-to-month.

A: Our process is quick and simple. Everything you need to set up your storage can be done electronically.

• Step 2: Specify any special storage requirements you may have.

Q: Is sub-letting allowed?

A: Yes. Access hours remain the same year round.

Q: What is the largest vehicle that can enter a storage facility?

A: An 8-tonne truck.

Q: What are your operating hours for Saturdays and Sundays?

A: Each facility is different. Just contact the office to enquire.

Q: Can I store guns, ammunition, or weapons?

A: No.

A: No.

Q: Can I store chemicals?

A: Any flammables (like propane or aerosol cans) or highly reactive chemicals cannot be stored in our units.

Q: Do you have forklifts and pallets available for use?

Q: How big are your facilities?

A: Each facility is different and has specially designed measures in place. Our biggest is 25 000m² and our smallest is 2500m²

Q: Is there night lighting at your locations?

A: Yes.

Q: What security measures do you have in place?

A: Our security features vary from location to location. Security measures include alarms, armed response, CCTV, guard dogs, and access control. Please ask our office for your facility's specific security measures.
